Message from the President

 

Greetings from Zeta Psi Lambda:

 

Welcome to the official website of the Zeta Psi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., also known as the "Lake Charles Alpha Men of Distinction”. Our chapter has been devoted to scholarship, fellowship, and good character. We hope to keep visitors engaged with this historic and mighty chapter, chartered here on October 4, 1957.

 

We continue to be proud of and strongly support our hometown undergraduate chapter of Theta Theta (McNeese State University).

 

Since the founding of our dear Fraternity on December 4, 1906, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. has supplied a voice and vision to the struggle of African Americans and people of color around the world. We are committed to creating a positive and meaningful vision for each of our young students while continuing our mission to encourage, empower and enlighten our youths and community at large and promote brotherhood throughout our region.

 

We hope you will continue to visit here and stay involved with Zeta Psi Lambda as we move onward and upward toward our fraternity’s great aims of Manly Deeds, Scholarship and Love for All Mankind!

 

We will always remain committed to our national programs and partnerships of the fraternity. These include “Project Alpha,” “Brothers Keeper,” “Go to High School, Go to College”, “A Voteless People is a Hopeless People”, and our partnership with the “March Of Dimes”. Working with these programs, as well as local initiatives, allows Zeta Psi Lambda to effect social and political change on several levels in the Lake Charles and surrounding areas.

 

I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has taken the time to support and contribute to our rich legacy of developing leaders, promoting academic excellence and providing service to our communities.

 

I invite you to further explore our website and experience the great work of our chapter and to see and monitor current events and activities.  If you are a brother of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and in search of a chapter to hold the light high, we invite you to one of our events or chapter meetings.
